Significant escalation occurred last night on both the Iran and Ukraine war fronts causing oil to surge back above the 20 DMA this morning. Last time USO was above this key level, both IWM and TLT were below their 20 DMA.

Oil is the biggest inflation factor, which causes rates to go up and small caps (IWM) to drop. This put us in a capital-preservation mode last night, and indeed, IWM is trading towards its overnight lows as of the time of this writing. However, we are seeing incredible strength in AI names and the semiconductor index this morning, with many names looking poised to explode to new all-time highs.

Although we are seeing incredible strength in the AI sector, we are downgrading to yellow alert for today. While staying long some AI names makes sense, hedging against longs with a short of the IWM, may be advisable.
